Sunday afternoon I lay on a blanket in the grass, the kids playing and lying around me. Benefactor climbed on to my back "to take a rest" and "tuddle". So sweet. Tyler was asleep inside - recovering from a marathon work-week. The sun is so intense here. After just minutes I could feel it burning my legs, but I didn't want to move. I love the warmth and heat of the sun! I love the feeling of the sun on my skin, and I couldn't get enough. To me, sunshine equals happiness, and a relaxing afternoon without chores or responsibilities is a luxury.
A couple hours later, a surprise arrived on our doorstep!
at least gram and papa are looking at the camera and smiling! |
Tyler's parents came up to visit! They could only stay for the evening, and left early the next morning, but their visit was so fun. The kids played games with their grandparents, they tossed around the frisbee, we grilled up some steaks, and got in a few precious cuddles and squeezes before bed.
As Benefactor was getting ready for bed, he went up to Tyler's mom and made her pinky promise that they would visit again really soon. So sweet and touching it brought tears to our eyes.
ps - my sunburn hurts! but I'll probably get a dozen more before summer's over.

I feel the same way about the sun. Can't get enough!
Dunno what this "sun" is that you speak of.
How wonderful to have such special visitors. Was it a surprise?
Manda - oh, the sun-damage. but, OH!, the vitamin D!
M - It WAS a surprise. Gram was missing us that morning, and they just up and came. Awesome.
I wish *I* could do that. I wish *I* lived nearby. I wish *I* was spontaneous. Is there some way to still prove that I miss you?
I miss you, too! Let's not always live 20 hours away from each other, okay?
